NYSAMC membership consists mainly of minority and woman owned firms in construction and related industries throughout New York State for which it provides a wide range of critical services including a full schedule of training, financing and bonding referrals and paperwork assistance, legislation advocacy, government and union relations, workforce recruitment, contracting opportunity development, a plan room and a bi-monthly newsletter.

NYSAMC prides itself on amicable, close working relationships with several government agencies in New York State and with the major companies in private construction management and general contracting, as well as the other NYC-based professional trade organizations, technical assistance organizations and City, State and Federal construction agencies.

As part of its three-year strategic business plan, NYSAMC has set a key objective to broaden its board of directors to include private industry members from major construction companies. Other important milestones in the strategic plan include restructuring the By-Laws to accommodate changes to the board of directors and operating procedures; expanding membership to include greater representation of Asian and Hispanic-owned businesses. Recently it instituted a year-round professional training schedule in collaboration with The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors. NYSAMC has also expanded its offices to include a training and Plan Room/PID service and facility.
